Tennessee law requires any person who has knowledge of or reasonable cause to suspect child abuse, including child sexual abuse, to make a report to the appropriate authorities. Reports of suspected child abuse or neglect may be made to the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services Child Abuse Hotline at 1-877-237-0004. If a child is in immediate danger, call 911.

It is not required to directly confront the person who is the source of a report, question, or complaint before making a report. Mid State Sports will take reasonable measures to ensure that individuals named in a complaint, or individuals whose relationship to those involved could reasonably call their impartiality into question, do not participate in the investigation.

Making knowingly false or malicious accusations of sexual abuse or misconduct can have serious consequences for those who are wrongly accused. Mid State Sports prohibits making false or malicious sexual misconduct allegations, as well as deliberately providing false information during an investigation.
